What Is The Nature Bus?
The Nature Bus is a unique mobile classroom on wheels, visiting local schools, early learning centres, libraries, community events, nature reserves, environmental groups, playgroups, and community organisations to provide nature based learning programs, nature play and environmental stewardship initiatives.
How will a visit from The Nature Bus benefit you?
Children’s SOCIAL, ACADEMIC, MENTAL and PHYSICAL HEALTH are positively impacted when they have regular opportunities to connect with nature.
But many local schools find it difficult to fund/access resources to provide students with valuable nature/ environmental learning and play opportunities.
Kids today are also spending more time indoors and on screens and less time outdoors. This disconnection from nature is making them unhealthy, unhappy and unsociable.
The Nature Bus aims to help local kids, schools, community and nature by:
• offering nature connection opportunities for improved health/wellbeing
• providing affordable nature/environmental programming
• nurturing a strong environmental ethic in our kids

About The Nature Bus
The Nature Bus project is an exciting new project led by Nurture in Nature Australia and made possible through the Victorian Government's Pick My Project Initiative.
We're excited that The Nature Bus is now on the road connecting kids and communities with nature. The first step of our project was to complete the conversion and fit out of a Renault Master Van into a classroom on wheels. It's been a great learning process and you can you can follow along with the full fit out and our adventures on Facebook and Instagram.
We've consulted with lots of our local kids and communities on the design - inside and out - in what is an exciting, collaborative and community focused project. We've had some helpful and very interesting suggestions from kids in particular and we're endeavouring to include as many of those ideas as we can into the design and programming.
We're so excited to be out and about visiting local schools, early learning centres, libraries, community events, nature reserves, environmental groups, playgroups, and community organisations to provide outdoor play, nature based learning programs and environmental stewardship initiatives for kids and communities.
The Nature Bus programs are available to local schools/groups free of charge during these first 12 month thanks to the Victorian Government's Pick My Project Funding Initiative. The activities are designed to allow kids and of various ages and abilities to participate. Get in touch with us to find out how you can have The Nature Bus visit you!
