Who should join us at CAMPference?

This unique weekend conference is primarily aimed at educators in the early and primary years, who are passionate about learning more of the powerful role that nature connection can have in their services.

The sessions and practical activities are designed to be adapted to a wide range of settings and children's ages. As such, we also have many others joining us (from all over Australia!) who absolutely love the experience, such as:

  • Nature play and nature pedagogy practitioners
  • Allied Health Professionals
  • School Wellbeing Staff
  • Educators and carers supporting children and young people with disability
  • Playgroup Leaders
  • Council Education Staff
  • Environmental Educators
  • Librarians
  • Nature and Art Therapists
  • Camp Leaders
  • Outside School Hours Care Leaders

There is a welcoming spot for everyone in our programs and in our community ... you don't have to be working in one of the above settings to join us ... AND we have people from all over Australia come to CAMPference!

What really sets this weekend PD apart is the unhurried opportunity to connect and have quality time to share ideas, challenges and inspiration with like-minded people.

So, whether you’re taking your first steps outside on your journey towards incorporating nature inspired learning and outdoor play, or you already integrate lots of nature play and learning into your work but want to extend your knowledge and practice, CAMPference has something special for you

Why YOU should join us at CAMPference

Nurture YOUR wellbeing, grow your confidence and refresh your skills

You'll grow your confidence and knowledge at CAMPference, BUT more importantly, you'll be making your wellbeing a priority with a refreshing weekend devoted to connecting with nature, play and the things that are important to YOU.

"I used to think nature was a side obsession for me, that what I wanted to do was on the fringes and that my professional experiences were not likely to combine with personal interest. Now I know it’s possible, and actually works better, if I can bring all parts of me to everything I do (nature, education, children, and learning). Meeting great people at CAMPerence confirms this! - Lisa, EC Consultant

Plenty of time and opportunity to engage with presenters

CAMPference presenters stay and play with us all weekend, so there's plenty of time to pick their brains, share your experiences and have authentic conversations with them.

"I thoroughly enjoyed all of my interactions with the facilitators, both during the sessions and in conversation. Having the opportunity to engage with each facilitator separate to the sessions was highly valuable and informative. Thank you for providing such a welcoming and collaborative space. CAMPference has such a great culture and usually developing a culture takes a LOT more time than a few short years so well done!" - Zoe, Centre Director

Connect and network with likeminded people

Whether it's your first time at CAMPference or you're one of our returning "groupies" (many come back every year), you'll make lots of genuine personal and professional connections!

An awesome weekend nuturing nature with fellow nature lovers., so glad we get the chance to be together with some minded people enjoying this wonderful country we live in. Can't wait for the next one! - Angie, Family Day Care Educator

An inspiring and connecting PD experience for you and your team

When teams of educators come to CAMPference together, they always tell us that it is such an uplifting and inspring experience, both indiviually and for their team.

"Thank you for a weekend of connecting with nature, inspiration, knowledge and fun. My team and I gained so much more than we could have imagined. Excellent Excellent Excellent!" - Christine, Educational Leader

What You'll Learn At CAMPference

During this unique and immersive conference you'll get LOTS of fun, engaging, thoughtful and hands-on training to help you to get your kids, class and YOU outdoors and connecting with nature more easily and more often.

Some of the things you will experience at CAMPference include:

  • Lay the foundations for STEAM with outdoor play, learning and exploration
  • Be inspired by real world examples of early learning centres, schools, and other organisations who are embedding nature connection into their programs
  • Learn how to incorporate simple nature skills into your programs
  • Discover innovative, fun and nature inspired ways to engage parents (and colleagues) in their children's nature connection journey
  • Grow your skills and cofidence in nature inspired teaching and learning
  • Discover strategies and ideas for inclusive practice in your nature based programming
  • Develop an understanding of what 'risky' nature play is and learn how to identify and document the benefits as well as the risks
  • Learn about incorporating authentic indigenous perspectives into your programs
  • Learn how to use nature's loose parts in meaningful and engaging ways
  • Get hands on ideas for nature art and crafts that your kids (and you) will love
  • Create a plan of action to help you put into practice what you've learnt so you can hit the ground running when you get back to work
  • Enjoy the chance to get re-energised and reconnected with nature yourself in a relaxed and unhurried environment

Meet The CAMPference Team & Presenters

The CAMPference team and presenters come from within our own networks and many have loved being CAMPference attendees in past years. Some have joined us EVERY year! This means they've experienced for themselves the wonderfully unique culture of shared beliefs, values and practices, and the nurturing environment that CAMPference is known for.

Through connection and deep conversations with other CAMPference attendees, they have a unique understanding of what they believe they can share from their practice and experience that can be most helpful to others on this journey.

"Head outdoors and the lesson will find us!"

I used to think that I needed to create a lesson to head outdoors. Now I think to go outdoors and the lesson will find us! Thank you Tania!

"Endless possibilities and learning opportunities"

What an incredible weekend with so many amazing people! I’m so thankful and great full that I had the opportunity to attend CAMPference with our team! My mind is blown by the endless possibilities and learning opportunities for children in nature! I can’t wait to implement and help educators embed these new ideas into everyday practices at the services and begin incorporating more nature based play! Thank you Tania for creating this amazing event to showcase learning from a different perspective!
